The Law Society, in partnership with the Bar Council, Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Great Britian (MexCC), Barra Mexicana, ANADE, and INCAM are organising an English Law Week in Mexico City, 3-5 September 2018.
As one of Latin America’s largest economies, Mexico represents an enormous opportunity for English and Welsh solicitors and law firms dealing with cross border issues. English Law Week in Mexico will bring together leading businesses and legal professionals from England and Wales and Mexico to discuss the benefits of using English law for Mexican businesses and to build and deepen relationships between our respective legal professions. It builds on the Law Society’s five years of experience of running its ‘Lex Mex’ event in London in partnership with the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain (MexCC) and the three main national bar associations in Mexico – Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados, Asociacion Nacional de Abogados de Emprese (ANADE) and the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de Mexico (INCAM). The event will focus on how Mexican and English lawyers can work together across a range of practice areas including: fintech, oil and gas, maritime, international arbitration, corporate governance, anti-money laundering and financial regulation and more. The visit is a unique opportunity to promote the use of English law and England and Wales as a dispute resolution centre, while developing your international practice and relationships in Mexico. The draft program is available here. For more details, solicitors/English law firms should register their interest at [email protected] |
