FT Pacific Alliance Summit
Venue: Lancaster House, London
Time: 13.45 hours
The Pacific Alliance (Alianza del Pacifico) is an ambitious integration effort between Colombia, Chile, Peru and Mexico which aims to deepen cooperation among its members - by dropping barriers on labour, finance and trade - and to forge closer relations with the Asia-Pacific Region. The United Kingdom has been the latest to join nations like the United States, Japan, Spain, Canada, Australia and Uruguay as observers.
The Financial Times in partnership with the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Pacific Alliance Embassies in London, will bring together senior policy makers and international business leaders for a forward looking and insightful discussion about the Pacific Alliance and key political and economic challenges and opportunities including:
- What are most recent accomplishments for the Pacific Alliance and what are the next steps to deepen political and economic integration?
- What are the domestic and bloc challenges that the Alliance faces and what is being done to overcome them?
- What are the most promising opportunities and key considerations for investors entering or expanding in Latin America and what can the Pacific Alliance offer them?
- Will the Pacific Alliance live to its great expectations?
